The P.E.O. International Peace Scholarships are awarded to women who are citizens of countries outside the U.S.A. or Canada. This scholarship is for women that choose to enroll for graduate study in a degree program offered in any school in the U.S.A. and Canada.
The P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship Fund was established in 1949 to benefit women based on demonstrated need.
The members of P.E.O. International Peace Scholarships (I.P.S.) believe that education is fundamental to sustaining world peace.
How? When qualified women who do not have the financial capacity are given the privilege of having higher education, when they become successful and make a living out of it, it directly helps the economy and the world at large.
It is imperative to note that the P.E.O. International Peace Scholarships do not cover the entire academic or personal expenses. Instead, it is a gesture that motivates the applicant to keep her dream alive.
That is why it is demanded that during the application, an applicant must show in evidence, proof of income, or resources that she will be able to see out the remaining cost to complete the program.
Some of these costs include work scholarships, personal and family funds, teaching assistantships, tuition waivers, study grants, etc.
Nonetheless, accredited Universities and Colleges in the U.S.A. or Canada reimburse a maximum amount of $12,500 to successful applicants. Although, this could be less depending on the package. There is no specification on the number of scholarships.
